When should I place my order?

Accepted Answer

Unless you want to pay full price, order as soon as possible. 
 
In order to take advantage of some seriously great discounts, place your orders before the deadlines.  Anything ordered before the first deadlilne Jan. 15th, will be discounted by 30%.  The next deadline is Jan. 31st. Order before then and receive a 15% discount.  Anything ordered after that and you'll pay full price.

Question 2

Why are "at the show" internet orders so expensive?"

Accepted Answer

It would be nice if we could flip a switch and your internet connection would magically be active.  Unfortunately that's not the way it works.  
 
In simplicity, equipment has to be configured and deployed, in many cases ethernet wires have to be run and staff has is paid overtime since this generally has to happen after hours.

Question 3

Do you recommend cellular based hotspots?

Accepted Answer

Most venues provide cellular service but if your business is dependent on internet, like when you need to run that credit card through your POS device,  then the easy answer is NO.
 
3 main reasons: 
 
Hardline connections offer the fastest, most reliable, flawless connectivity - hand's down.
Remember, you're not the only one using cellular technology.  Other exhibitors, all the attendees, and everyone around the venue are too! What that means is during peak hours connections can get bogged down and become slow and/or unreliable.
There could be connection "deadzones".

Question 4

Why is a wired connection my only option on the pier?

Accepted Answer

Because wireless signals receive a tremendous amount of interferrance on the pier.  ANY device that transmits or receives wireless signals can cause signal interferrance.  Fiberglass, microwaves, bluetooth devices, water, etc.

Question 5

The fine print says 12M does not broadcast in 2.4Ghz.  What does that mean?

Accepted Answer

Lets say it's rush hour.  Would you choose to travel on the highway that's wide open or the one that's severely congested?  The congested highway might get you some benefits but the bottom line is it's going to take you twice as long to get to where you're going.
 
2.4Ghz is the congested highway.
 
12M strongly recommends all of the devices you depend on during the show are 5Ghz compatible.

Question 6

What if my device is only 2.4Ghz compatible.

Accepted Answer

You'll have to order a "wired to booth" package so you can connect your device via ethernet.   If you will need to connect more than one device you'll need more than one hardwire.  To. be safe, give us a call and we can walk you through it.

Question 7

Does 12M Communications provide cellular service?

Accepted Answer

No.  Nor do we support devices connecting with cellular technology.  So,you're using a WiFi hotspot and the connectivity is less than desirable, you will have to troubleshoot the issues yourself.  
 
On the bright side, we can provide flawless connectivity if you order one of our internet packages and you'll get all the support you can dream of.

Question 8

What is "custom" installation?"

Accepted Answer

You will require custom installation and will be charged an additional fee if:
A specific installation design needs to be followed,
The AP has to be mounted in a specific location in your booth that is not easy to access,
you require more than 3 hardwires to connect to various endpoints
A secondary access point is needed
you require us to wire the LAN or AP to multiple endpoints (printers, laptops).

Question 9

What is "standard" installation?"

Accepted Answer

Standard installation includes:
deploying a dedicated hardwire to your booth that is terminated to a wireless access point (AP),
mounting the access point at an easily accessible area in or near your booth, 
a unique SSID
on-site support for the duration of the show
All of your endpoints will connect wirelessly to your private network utilizing the 5Ghz spectrum.  
 
If you have endpoints that require hardwired connections:
a switch that can accommodate up to 3 endpoints will be provided. This equipment is in limited supply and must be requested in advance. 
12M will connect the requested hardwire(s) to the switch but exhibitors are responsible for connecting to their endpoints (printers, laptops etc).
